Got Questions? We've Got Answers!

Welcome to our FAQ’s page where you will find answers to the most commonly asked questions.
  • Where do we start?

We have a straight forward process that helps both of us get on the same page so that all the bases are covered. Listed below are the necessary pieces to this process. Once in place, you’re on your way to putting your brand in ink.

    Objective:
First we’ll want to know your marketing objective – what is your end goal?

Who, What, When, Where, and Why:
These are the questions that are the most critical to a successful promotional products campaign. What are the demographics of your target market? Are you planning an event? If so, will it be inside? Outside?
    Timeline:
Are you looking at a few days or a few months to get this project completed?

    Budget:
What does your budget look like? What kind of promo will meet all of the above criteria AND fit in your budget?

Taking the time to get these questions answered will set the stage for a terrific promo campaign!

  • You have the perfect item, but now what?

It starts with the artwork and ends with the artwork. No matter how cool the product is, it’s only as good as the artwork you put on it. To make the BEST impression you will need to supply us with great artwork or let us take what you have and we’ll get it up to standards for you.

See our artwork section below and if you need help, we will be happy to assist you!

  • Can you print our logo on anything?

Well, almost anything. We get this a lot and people are usually amazed at the number of things that can be engraved, etched, pressed, screened, imprinted, sublimated etc. Give us a call or send us a request and we would be more than happy to see if it’s possible.

  • How Long Will it Take To Receive My Order?

This varies from product to product and can usually be expedited if your needs require. Typically, promotional products take between 2-3 weeks once we have received all of the artwork and approved the order with you.

We are happy to keep you in the loop with regards to the status of your orders. The best way to get an order through as quickly as possible is to provide camera-ready vector artwork.

  • Artwork Requirements

The artwork is one of the most critical components in both print and promotional products. We require VECTOR art for all of our jobs. Art charges for non-vector artwork start at $45/hr.

    Artwork requirements are as follows:

    • Adobe CS6 or lower (.ai, .eps, .psd, .tiff, .pdf)
    • Artwork must be at least 300 dpi, size as 100%
    • Convert all text to outlines for Illustrator files and rasterize all text for Photoshop files

Examples of artwork that are NOT ACCEPTABLE:

    • jpegs
    • gifs
    • Photocopies/Scans/Faxes
    • Photographs
    • Word documents (.doc, .docx, .wpd)
    • Business Cards
    • Letterhead
    • PowerPoint (.pps)

If you are unable to produce the artwork needed, send us what you have and we can get the art to meet the standards required. Simple artwork that requires minimal cleaning will be $45. Artwork that needs a lot of work will start at $45/hr. and rarely goes over 2 hours of work.

  • What is Vector Artwork?

Vector artwork is created using software such as Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop. This artwork is able to scale to any size without distorting the image quality. Files that are imported into a software and saved as an .eps, .ai, .pdf, etc. are NOT vector graphics.

  • Why can’t I use a photograph or scan of our logo?

In order to produce high quality products, we need artwork that is high quality as well. Vector artwork is scalable and won’t affect the quality of the image – whereas a scan or photograph becomes distorted, not meeting the minimum resolution (300 dpi) required for print. Art charges for non-vector artwork run $45/hr.

  • What types of printing do you do?

If you’ve seen it, most likely we can print it. As a print distributor we have access to some of the largest suppliers in the country. This means we have a vendor for almost any job you give us, including the latest in print technology.

    Popular print specialties include:

    • UV Spot
    • Silk Lamination
    • Foil Stamping
    • Embossing/Debossing
    • Variable Print
  • If you’re a distributor, aren’t your prices going to be higher?

Actually, because of our position as a distributor, we’re almost always going to save you money. We don’t have a lot of collateral tied up in overhead expenses from equipment and inventory, so we turn those savings around to you!

  • How do you compare to places online like Vistaprint?

Another common question that we love to answer. Unlike many online print shops who are only focused on processing your order as quickly and cheaply as possible, we focus on producing high quality products. With MBS you work directly with a sales rep. who walks you through the entire process, ensures your artwork is top notch, and keeps tabs on your order to make sure the end result is something you are proud of.

You also might be surprised at just how competitive we are with online print shops! With the added value of a sales rep. and our outstanding customer service team, you can’t beat it!

  • Will you match competitor pricing?

If it’s possible, we will. We are a partner you can trust, and if you have been quoted an outstanding price on an item we will let you know whether we can beat it, or not!
